IPL PhotoFacial

What is an IPL PhotoFacial?

An IPL PhotoFacial is a rejuvenation treatment that uses light energy to address pigment issues in the skin. This includes sun damage, age spots, and even conditions such as rosacea. Although it is called an IPL PhotoFacial, this treatment can actually be used to treat other areas of the body as well. At NUSCULPT, we use broadband light therapy, or BBL, for IPL PhotoFacials. By using BBL, patients can also restore collagen in the skin, creating additional cosmetic benefits. As a result, many patients experience softer, healthier skin in addition to reducing the appearance of pigment issues.

What Can I Expect from an IPL PhotoFacial Treatment?

The IPL PhotoFacial with BBL is a gentle treatment many patients consider comfortable. If you are concerned about discomfort during treatment, we can apply a topical anesthetic to the treatment area before beginning. During treatment, the BBL will gently heat the skin. This process can take up to an hour depending on your treatment goals, but patients are generally able to relax during this time.

How is Recovery After an IPL PhotoFacial?

After an IPL PhotoFacial, patients may experience mild redness or sensitivity similar to a sunburn. This generally fades within a few days, but patients are advised to avoid harsh sunlight during this time to prevent damage to the skin. Despite these minor side effects, patients are able to return to their normal activities and skin care regimens immediately after their treatment.

When Will I Notice Results from My IPL PhotoFacial?

Within a few days of treatment, you will begin to notice the results of your IPL PhotoFacial treatment. Age spots and other pigmentation concerns will begin to fade within a week or two of treatment. These results will continue to improve as collagen increases in the skin and restores the tissue. In most cases, patients will need multiple treatment sessions to achieve their desired results, although the number of treatments will vary for each patient.

How Much Does an IPL PhotoFacial Cost in Cincinnati, OH?

The cost of your IPL PhotoFacial treatment will depend on the number of treatments necessary to deliver your desired results. When you come in for your initial consultation, we will develop a personalized plan that includes the exact cost of your treatment. As a cosmetic procedure, IPL PhotoFacials are not covered by insurance providers. In order to keep this and other treatments affordable for our patients, we offer financing through CareCredit® and accept all major credit cards.
