Microneedling

Rejuvenate Skin
& Stimulate Collagen Production

What Is Microneedling?

Microneedling is a rejuvenation treatment that stimulates collagen production to produce a range of cosmetic benefits. This is done by puncturing tiny holes in the skin’s surface, which triggers the body’s self-healing response. As the body works to heal the microscopic punctures, collagen is created. With an increase in collagen supply, the skin begins to strengthen and repair. As a result, patients can enjoy a reduction in acne scarring, lines and wrinkles, sun damage, and more.

How is Microneedling Performed?

Microneedling is performed using a special rolling device, covered with tiny needles. To prevent any discomfort during treatment, a topical anesthetic is applied to the skin before beginning. Once applied, the microneedling device is rolled over the desired treatment areas, making tiny wounds in the skin’s surface. This process takes only a few minutes and is often completed in less than half an hour.

Is There Any Downtime After Microneedling?

Although patients will be able to resume work and other normal activities after their microneedling appointment, they may experience some mild skin redness or sensitivity. Many patients compare the look and feel of these effects to a sunburn. To prevent skin damage, it is recommended to avoid harsh sunlight for a few days while these side effects fade.

When Will I Notice Results from Microneedling?

Most patients will notice results from microneedling within a few weeks from treatment as collagen begins to take effect in the skin. We typically recommend a series of three or four treatments in order to achieve optimal results. After about three months, patients will notice more substantial improvements in the appearance and feel of their skin.

How Much Does Microneedling Cost?

The cost of your microneedling treatment will depend on the number of treatments necessary to deliver your desired results. When you come in for your initial consultation, we will develop a personalized treatment plan that includes the exact cost of your treatment. As a cosmetic procedure, microneedling is not covered by insurance providers. In order to keep this and other treatments affordable to our patients, we offer financing through CareCredit® and accept all major credit cards.
